COMIC BOOK CREATOR & ANIMATOR


Sam Lotfi (b.1980) grew up in Texas.  His fascination with storytelling, mythology and folklore began with comic books, cartoons, and books of all kinds from the school library.  Sam is co-creator/artist of the psychological supernatural thriller LAST STOP on the RED LINE with co-creator/writer Paul Maybury published by Dark Horse Comics. Among many applicants and fierce competition, Sam is one of the 8 talented artists who were selected for the DC Talent Development Artist Workshop Class of 2016.  During the workshop Sam was taught by and studied under comic book legends Andy Kubert, Klaus Janson, and Jim Lee.  His comic and cover artwork is published in DC's CYBORG #21 & #22 (Cover art) and in the DC NEW TALENT SHOWCASE where he worked on DOCTOR FATE with writer David Accampo and also on HARLEY QUINN with writer Joelle Jones.  He has also worked on SECRET SQUIRREL in SCOOBY APOCALYPSE with writers Keith Giffen & J.M. DeMatteis.  His other works include Marvel/Icon's PAINKILLER JANE: PRICE OF FREEDOM with writer Jimmy Palmiotti, IDW's TMNT, MICRONAUTS and HASBRO HEROES (Cover art), Dynamite's ASH VS THE ARMY OF DARKNESS, Devil's Due/1First Comics LARK'S KILLER with writer Bill Willingham, and PUBLIC RELATIONS with writer Matthew Sturges.

Sam has also worked on a number of projects with Powerhouse Animation and various gaming studios: Sony Online Entertainment - DC UNIVERSE ONLINE; Vigil Games - DARKSIDERS 2; Stoic Studio - THE BANNER SAGA; Junction Point Studios Disney - EPIC MICKEY 1 & 2; and various other commercials such as LOONEY TUNES and short animated films like NURSING HOLMES.  Sam is also the character designer and storyboard artist on the short animated film RED TAPE, Winner of Best Short Animated Film at the Burbank International Film Festival directed by David St. Clair and produced by Joe Rothenberg Animation.

When he's not drawing comic pages for various publishers, Sam is writing and drawing an original comic book, which you may or may not see a sneak peek of in the COMIC BOOKS section.

Sam lives in Austin, TX with his lovely wife and their two adventurous boys.
